Effective August 2026

GulfPitch is built to be read, not to read you. This page explains, in plain language, what data this website processes.

Who operates this site

GulfPitch is operated by Hilarion LLC (QFC No. 05218), Doha, Qatar. Contact: hello@gulfpitch.com.

No tracking

This site sets no tracking cookies. To understand overall traffic we use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-first service (EU-based) that works without cookies and without collecting personal data — we see aggregate counts, never individual visitors. We do not build profiles of visitors, and there is no advertising. Fonts are self-hosted, so no font provider sees your visit.

Hosting

The site is served by Netlify, Inc. (USA). Like any web server, Netlify processes technical connection data (such as your IP address) in server logs to deliver the site securely. Details are in Netlify's privacy policy.

Forms

If you use the "Be on the show" or "Suggest an edit" forms, we receive exactly what you type — typically your name, email address, an optional WhatsApp number and your message. We use it solely to respond to your request and to prepare episodes or map corrections. We do not sell it or share it beyond the processing needed to receive it (Netlify Forms). Ask us to delete it at any time via the email above.

If you enter your email address in a "Deadline alerts" box, we store the address, the page you used and the time of the request (Netlify Forms, which also records the IP address and browser of the request) and send you, at most once a week, new deadlines and new programmes from the map, from hello@gulfpitch.com. Nothing else is sent to that address and it is not shared. Stop at any time by replying to an alert or by writing to hello@gulfpitch.com — the address is then deleted.

Investor Match (gulfpitch.com/match) runs in your browser: your six answers are matched against the map's data on your device and are not sent to us. The answers appear in the page address so that you can share or save the result; share that link only if you want to. If you leave your email address in the "Keep this list current" box, we store the address, your six answers, the ten matches and, if you add one, the link to your deck (Netlify Forms, which also records the IP address and browser of the request), and we write to you only when a programme on your list reopens or a new one fits your answers, from hello@gulfpitch.com. Stop at any time by replying or by writing to hello@gulfpitch.com — the address is then deleted.

If you upload a pitch deck, your browser opens the file itself — a PDF with the open-source pdf.js library served from gulfpitch.com, a PowerPoint (.pptx) with the browser's own unzipping — and sends only the text of its slides — or, when a deck has no selectable text, reduced images of its first pages — once, to a reading service that fills the six answers for you to confirm. The file itself never leaves your device. GulfPitch keeps nothing from the reading: the extracted text or page images are held for the seconds of the reading in temporary storage (Netlify) and deleted the moment they have been read, and the answers are deleted when your browser has fetched them; the reading runs through Anthropic's API under its data-processing terms, which exclude use for training. Nothing from the deck is logged, and no copy is kept. To keep the service free, each day allows a limited number of readings and a few per connection, counted with a one-way hash that is discarded with the day. If you prefer, answer the six questions instead — no file is needed.

The GulfPitch connector for AI assistants (gulfpitch.com/mcp, see AI connector) only reads the map’s public data. When an assistant such as Claude uses it, the assistant’s server sends a search — the words of the search and filters such as country or stage — to a function on our host, Netlify, which answers from the same data as gulfpitch.com. GulfPitch does not store or log these requests and receives nothing about you or your conversation; Netlify processes each request, including the IP address of the assistant’s server, as described under Hosting. What the assistant does with the answer is governed by its provider’s own terms.

Storage in your browser

The site keeps a few settings in your own browser so it behaves the way you left it: the programs you saved on the map, your light or dark setting, and whether you have already seen the opening film (kept for 30 days). This is functional storage, not tracking — it stays on your device, is never sent to us or to anyone else, and clearing your browser data removes it.
